Man, 20, arraigned on robbery charge

WARREN

Teano D. Smith, 20, of Burton Street Southeast and Parkman Road Southwest, was arraigned Monday on an aggravated-robbery charge, accused of robbing a teen near a Parkman Road gas station last week.

A not-guilty plea was entered for Smith in Warren Municipal Court, and he is being held in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond.

A man, 18, of Warren said he spoke with Smith inside Gasland, 860 Parkman Road NW at 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday because he knew Smith from the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center.

When the victim left the store, Smith followed him and then demanded money while holding his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, police said. The victim gave Smith cash from his wallet, he said.

Discolored water

MINERAL RIDGE

Trumbull County water customers in the Mineral Ridge Water District may experience temporary discoloration of their water during flushing between Wednesday and April 9.

This discoloration is not harmful and should clear within one to two hours of flushing. Customers are asked to run cold water only until it clears and are cautioned not to wash clothes the day of or day after the flushing takes place.

Some fluctation of water pressure also may occur.

Flushing is done to improve water quality by removing stagnant water, sediment and excessive mineral deposits from the inside walls of water mains, according to a press release from the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Office.

If discoloration continues for more than two hours after crews have left the area, call 330-675-2775.
