Another of the charged Trumbull off-road vehicle drivers pleads guilty

The fifth of seven people indicted for driving their off-road vehicles on Trumbull County roads Aug. 30 has pleaded guilty.

Antonio D. Gay, 27, of Cleveland, pleaded guilty Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to obstructing official business and receiving stolen property and will be sentenced later.

He could get several years in prison or probation.

About 70 people were observed participating in what they called on social media a “bike life” event. Some were seen doing “wheelies” and taking up all lanes of travel, including lanes coming the opposite direction on U.S. Route 422 in Warren, police said. Many refused to stop for police.

Many of the people charged were apprehended near the Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Champion, where some had parked trailers and motor vehicles used to bring the dirt bikes and four-wheelers to the area. Six of the seven people indicted were from outside of Trumbull County.

Virgil Williams, 22, of Stow, was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty earlier to obstructing official business.

Kyle Lee, 26, of Stow and Tyrina Henderson, 25, of Cleveland pleaded guilty earlier to obstructing official business and will be sentenced later. Lawrence D. Hemphill, 28, of Cleveland pleaded guilty earlier to failure to comply with the order of a police officer and will be sentenced later.

Trevor Hall, 22, of Buena Vista Avenue in Warren is scheduled to go to trial on three charges May 2. Louis Christian, 21, of Akron is scheduled for trial April 11 on failure to comply with the orders of a police officer.
