AUCTIONS

St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor its second annual quarter auction April 8. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the auction will begin at 7 for the 21-and-over event. There will be a 50-50 and a lottery tree raffle. Tickets are $10 each for admission and one bidding paddle. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. St. Joseph the Provider School will host its annual basket and gift auction at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the social hall at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 343 Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown. A buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m. and will include baked Italian chicken, cavatelli and meatballs, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes, Italian vegetables, salad, dessert, pop, coffee and tea. BINGO/CARD PARTIES

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown, will be the location of the annual bingo and card party at 3 p.m. Sunday. It will be hosted by Mother of the Crucifix. The cost is $6, and a light lunch will be served. There also will be door prizes, a basket auction and pot of gold.

St. Paul Church Hall, Route 170, New Middletown, will offer its annual Spring Fling sponsored by the Altar Guild. The event will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, and admission is $5. Refreshments, bingo, cards and door prizes are included.

BOOK SALES

Cortland United Methodist Women will have a used book sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 8 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9 in the fellowship hall of the church, 155 N. High St. Most items will be $2 per bag April 9. Items for sale will include gently used books, specialty magazines, puzzles, games, videos, DVDs and more. Proceeds will support mission projects. Donations for the sale will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays before April 6 or by special arrangements by calling the church at 330-637-2571.

Friends of the Warren Library will have a book sale for members from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and for the public from 12:30 to 3 p.m. April 16 in the Thomas Room of the library, 444 Mahoning Ave.

CRAFT SHOWS

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 N. Walnut St., Youngstown, will host a trash and treasures craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be served. Tables are still available and crafters and vendors are welcome; contact Teddi Noday at 330-720-2408.

FLEA MARKETS

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will sponsor an indoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature 18 vendors offering antiques and collectibles, books, toys, Avon, crafts and household items. The church will sell 8-foot tables and 60-inch round tables no longer in use. Soup, sandwiches, desserts and beverages will be available for purchase. Proceeds from table rentals and sales will benefit the choir, deacons, and educational programs, and food sales will benefit local outreach programs. FUNDRAISERS

Austintown American Legion Post 301, 3652 Oakwood Ave., will offer a Las Vegas night and basket raffle fundraiser from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the door for a $5 donation. Food and refreshments are included.

Jackson-Milton High School National Honor Society will host a Spring Extravaganza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 7 at the high school, 13910 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. SALES

Girard Junior Women will host its annual trunk sale, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 at 100 N. Market St., Girard. To reserve a spot for $15 each, call Laura at 330-545-5962. All proceeds are donated back to the Girard community.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. March specials include a winter clearance sale on everything in the shop for $1 each excluding jewelry and formal dresses, and orchid tickets on spring items. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. A food stand and bake sale also will be available.

Poland Lions will have a Treasures of the Trunk Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 in the stadium parking lot at Poland Seminary High School. Vendors are being accepted for 100 available spaces; registration will be $10 for one parking space if postmarked by May 1, or $15 per space after this date. Vendors should take their own table. It is asked that there be no hot food or soft drink vendors or raffle drawings. There will be no refunds for registration, and the event will be held rain or shine. Saxon Club Ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will be the location of a trash and treasure sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 9. Lunch will be served after 11 a.m. for sit-down or takeout. It will include sauerkraut, hot dogs, German sausage sandwiches, chips, soft drinks and coffee. Chicken dumpling soup also will be available.

TRIPS

Jesus the Key Ministries and Men of Faith, the producers of The Rally in the Valley, will host bus trips to Lancaster, Pa. A trip to see the show “Sampson” at the Sight and Sound Theater will be April 12 and 13; cost will be $249 and include lodging and three meals. A second trip on July 12 and 13 will include “Sampson” as well as Crooners at the American Music Theater. A third trip will be Dec. 6 and 7 and include “Sampson”, Christmas concert at AMT, and a meal at the dinner theater at the Dutch Apple. Each trip also will provide time for sightseeing and shopping. Our Lady of Fatima — St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, Pa., will sponsor bus trips to raise funds for repairs of its church organ. A trip to Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y., is set for June 14 to 15. Lodging in the casino’s hotel is $155 per person for a double room occupancy with $70 in bonus rebates. A bus trip to Soaring Eagle Casino Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich., will be Sept. 13 to 15. Hotel rooms will be $304 per person for double occupancy with a $100 bonus.
