Dr. James LaPolla Jr., podiatrist and owner of Northeast Ohio Foot, Ankle & Wound Center Inc. and Howland Township trustee, recently received a diploma for completing the Ohio Township Association Leadership Academy.
LaPolla is among 20 graduates of the Leadership Academy who were awarded certificates at this year’s Ohio Township Association Winter Conference, held at the Columbus Convention Center.
To complete the academy, LaPolla registered for and attended the general workshop offered at OTA conferences, participated in six elective courses and took part in the National Association of Towns and Townships Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. The program is designed to enhance the leadership and decision-making skills of those involved in Ohio township government.

Howard Hanna Real Estate Services recently announced that Lori Diorio will join the Howland office as the new manager. As leader of the Howland office, she will mentor more than 20 agents, helping them to grow their business and market share in Trumbull County.
Before becoming a real-estate professional, Diorio worked in public health for the Mahoning County Board of Health, and later as the director of Environmental Health for city of Struthers. Ten years ago, she became an agent with Howard Hanna, working out of the Poland office.
CREDIT UNION
Associated School Employees Credit Union is pleased to announce that Edison Lugibihl has been re-elected and Larry Saxton, Dennis Voytko and Neil Frasca have been appointed to the credit union’s board of directors.
Lugibihl is retired from the Boardman school district after 41 years. He has served as assistant treasurer of ASECU board of directors since 1992.
Saxton is retired from the Boardman school district after 40 years.
Voytko is employed at General Motors in Lordstown. He is a Youngstown State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Frasca is a retired pharmacist from Forum Health.

NEO3 LLC, the Mahoning Valley’s leading business software provider, recently announced the appointment of Patrick Cioffi as vice president of sales. Cioffi will be responsible for the NEO3’s sales strategy and execution as well as the development and expansion of the company’s regional sales team.

RED CROSS
The American Red Cross announced that Scott Thompson has joined the Red Cross of Northeast Ohio as regional chief development officer. He assumed the role March 14. Thompson was most recently employed as a senior partner at JumpStart Inc. Before that position, he worked for Brand Innovation Group and founded BTI Fisheries LLC in Indianapolis.
