Dehydrated man crashes on I-80

HUBBARD

A man suffered minor injuries after he passed out while driving and hit a tree about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Robert Thomas, 50, of Pulaski, Pa., drifted off the south side of Interstate 80 in Hubbard Township and crashed into the tree, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The OSHP determined the man passed out from dehydration and had not been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

He was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Community summit planned at Choffin

YOUNGSTOWN

The city school board will host a community education summit Wednesday at Choffin Career and Technical Center.

Speakers will include representatives from the Ohio School Boards Association and the Community Leaders Coalition for Education, a community organization.

Speakers will address many topics, including changes that may stem from the Youngstown Plan. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations, and the summit is open to the pubic.

Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with the program starting at 11 a.m.
