Lit Youngstown poetry events

YOUNGSTOWN

April is National Poetry Month and Lit Youngstown, a local literary arts group, has scheduled several events to support it. Here is the schedule:

April 6: Poetry reading with Ohio poets Barbara Sabol and Adam Hughes, open mic to follow, 7 p.m., at Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts, 32 N. Phelps St.

April 11: Poems and lunch at Gallagher’s Lunch Bucket, 345 Oak Hill Ave., noon to 1 p.m.

April 14: Poetry reading in the gallery featuring Mari Alschuler, Kelly Bancroft and Arya-Francesca Jenkins, 7 p.m., in the Thomases Family Gallery at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane

April 24: Poetry reading featuring Youngstown-raised Poets Allison Davis and Rochelle Hurt, 2 p.m., at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St.

April 30: An afternoon of literary arts, in conjunction with Artists of the Mahoning Commons Spring Sale, noon to 5 p.m., at Ward Bakery, 1024 Mahoning Ave.,

Krakusy Society prepares event

The Free Polish Krakusy Society of Youngstown will present a 3rd of May Polish Constitution Day Celebration from 7 to 11 p.m. April 30 at the Embassy Banquet Center, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road. The event will include dinner, dancing, a full bar, raffles and historical presentations. Krakusy Hall artifacts will be displayed and guests will have the opportunity to win a Krakusy Hall brick.
