Divine Mercy

St. Patrick Church, 367 N. Main St., will observe the Feast of Divine Mercy on April 3.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 3 p.m.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m. in Reconciliation Chapel.

At 3 p.m., the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed followed by veneration of the Divine Mercy Image and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Groening lecture

Bruno Groening Circle of Friends will have a 90-minute lecture, featuring Arlene Barkan, leader of the Youngstown and Cleveland Communities, and Internet Children’s Community of North America, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St.

A short documentary film will be shown. Admission is free.

The Circle of Friends is not affiliated with Lord of Life Lutheran Church, or any other religion.

Bruno Groening (1906-59) was a German healer who taught about the power of faith in overcoming disease. The Circle of Friends passes on his teachings through information lectures.

To attend community hours, participants must be introduced at an information lecture.

Citywide revival

YOUNGSTOWN

The Baptist Pastors’ Council of Youngstown and Vicinity will sponsor a citywide conference and revival April 3-5 at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., with the Rev. Michael H. Harrison Sr., host pastor.

Pastor Ed Cryer of Cleveland will be the evangelist and speak at 6:30 p.m. nightly.

Workshop sessions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon April 4 and 5 with the Rev. Dr. Morris W. Lee, pastor of Third Baptist Church, and Pastor Christopher McKee Jr. of Tabernacle Baptist Church. The council also will honor the leadership legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, the anniversary of his assassination.

Pastor Larry Parker is council president. The Rev. Dr. Lewis W. Macklin and Pastor Harrison are co-chairmen.

Trips planned

Leetonia

Jesus “The Key” Ministry, in conjunction with Men of Faith, is sponsoring trips, and the proceeds send inner-city children to camp.

Trips to Lanscaster, Pa., are:

April 12 and 13 and will include the show, “Samson,” at the Sight & Sound Theater. This trip is $249 and includes room and three meals.

Another trip will be July 12 and 13 with shows, “Samson” at Sight & Sound and “Crooners” at the American Music Theater.

The third will take place Dec. 6 and 7 with “Samson” at Sight & Sound, a Christmas concert at the American Music Theater and dinner at the Dutch Apple.

There will be sightseeing and shopping on all trips.

Spring revival

CAMPBELL

Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 10th St., will host a spring revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with the Rev. James Bowie of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Youngstown as revivalist.

Choirs and deacons will offer songs of praise and devotion.

Leadership summit

AKRON

United Kingdom Destiny Ministerial Fellowship of Churches will present Transformation Transition leadership summit in April at Holiday Inn, 4073 Medina Road.

Agape Interfaith Restoration Ministry of Youngstown is part of the fellowship.

Apostle Dr. Lord Michael Hunt of Sakal Global Nation Ministries will be keynote speaker at 6 p.m. Friday.

April 2 sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Apostle Dr. Renee Sturdivant, presiding prelate, will be keynote speaker at 5 p.m.

Conference hosts and speakers are apostles Sam and Gloria Simons of the House of Glory Everlasting Kingdom Outreach Center, Global Network of Churches.

Participating from the Valley will be apostle Derrick Scott of Warren and Pastor Connie High-tower of Youngstown.

Special event

NEW CASTLE, PA.

People Concerned for the Unborn Child, New Castle Chapter, will host a banquet, “Defend God’s Gift of Life,” April 14 at the New Englander Banquet Center, 3009 Wilmington Road.

Dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m. and speakers at 6:30.

Speakers will be attorney Matthew D. Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Council and former dean of Liberty University School of Law, and the Rev. Frank A. Pavone, national director of Priests for Life and president of National Pro-Life Religious Council.

All clergy will be guests of PCUC; spouses and staff of clergy are $15 and other guests, $20.

Play, anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

New Beginnings Outreach Ministries, 2007 S. Schenley Ave., will present a play, “Resurrection: From Dreamer to Eternity,” directed by Deb Harris, at 11 a.m. Easter Sunday.

It is free and open to the public.

The ministries will celebrate the 16th church and pastoral anniversary next weekend on the theme, “This is it ... The Rain is Coming” from 1Kings18:42-46.

At 7 p.m. Friday, guest speaker will be Bishop Shawn C. Tyson and Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church music ministry.

On April 3, guest speakers will be Pastor Maurice Trent of Lighthouse Cathedral, Pittsburgh, at 10:30 a.m. and Pastor Chris Crump of Unity Christian Fellowship, Columbus, at 4 p.m.
