C.S. Lewis Institute plans lectures

The C.S. Lewis Institute – Northeast Ohio will continue its community lecture series in the Mahoning Valley during April.

Lectures are free, but registration is required.

Presentations planned are:

“Can Life Have Meaning Without God?” with Dr. Andy Bannister from 7 to 9 p.m. April 15 in DeBartolo Hall at Youngstown State University. He is the Canadian director and lead apologist for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in Canada and an adjunct research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths at Melbourne School of Theology. “Developing a Culture of Integrity in the Workplace,” business luncheon, will feature speaker Brad Smith, president of Bakke Graduate University of Ministry, where he earned a doctor of ministry degree, with testimonies by Bradley Walker, CRPS vice president, Beard Pension Services Inc., and Jeff Hedrich, president/brand strategist at The Prodigal Company Inc., from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 21 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. C.S. Lewis Institute Northeast Ohio’s Community Lecture Series is a component of the year-long Fellows curriculum.

The Fellows Program is the C.S. Lewis Institute’s flagship, year-long discipleship program that helps believers experience true heart and mind transformation.

It challenges and guides participants to a strong understanding of genuine discipleship, mission and conversational apologetics through Bible study, classic readings, lectures, group processing, personal spiritual mentoring and accountability.

“David Payne – A Night with C.S. Lewis,” theatrical performance, Oct. 15 at Ford Theater at YSU.

“A Christian Response to Homosexuality” with Christopher Yuan on Oct. 26, the place to be announced.

Community worship night with Leeland and Meredith Andrews on Nov. 13 at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Founded in 1976 in the legacy of C.S. Lewis, the institute endeavors to develop disciples who will articulate, defend and live their faith in Christ in personal and public life.

C.S. Lewis is better known as the author of “The Chronicles of Narnia” book series and was an influential Christian figure of the 20th century. Lewis’ focus on core essentials of the faith reached across denominational boundaries.

It offers a year-long discipleship Fellows Program, a Pastor’s Fellowship Program, a 10-week small group discipleship program and free resources and publications for study.
