The public is invited to attend a live broadcast of the 186th annual worldwide conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at noon and 4 p.m. April 2 and 3 at the Youngstown Chapel, 2205 Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Sessions will be broadcast from The Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The women’s session, for all women and girls age 8 and older, will be at 8 p.m. today. The priesthood session for men will be at 8 p.m. April 2. Messages will be given by Thomas S. Monson, president of the church, and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and other general authorities and officers of the church. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will provide music for the conference.
A live broadcast of “Music and the Spoken Word” is set for 11:30 a.m. April 3.
The broadcast also is available on the internet at www.lds.org as well as on BYU-TV, Mormonchannel.org, Mormon Channel mobile apps and Mormon Channel YouTube.
Documentary film

St. Dominic’s Church, 77 E. Lucius, will show the new documentary film, “The Original Image of Divine Mercy,” at 3 p.m. April 3, Divine Mercy Sunday, in the Parish Center.
“The Original Image of Divine Mercy” features exclusive interviews with first-hand eye-witnesses, and Bishop Robert Barron of Los Angeles; authors George Weigel and Immacul e Ilibagiza; Cardinal Stanis≈Çaw Dziwisz of Krak ≥w, Poland; Cardinal Christoph Sch ∂nborn of Vienna, Austria; the Rev. Leo Maasburg, spiritual director and confessor to Blessed Mother Teresa; and the Rev. Dwight Longenecker.
The film also features conversations with comedian Jim Gaffigan; musician Harry Connick Jr., and the Rev. Karl Wallner from the Cistercian Abbey in Stift Heiligenkreuz, Austria, home to the “Chant” recordings.
This independent film was shot across the U.S. and Europe and features images of the original painting in Vilnius (Lithuania), the permanent home of the original image. This film has been endorsed by the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization at the Vatican.
Prior to the screening, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed. There is no charge for admission, but a free-will offering will be taken. For more information, call St. Dominic’s at 330-783-1900.
Church security
AUSTINTOWN
A program on church security planning and intruder awareness response is planned April 8 and 9 at Four Mile Run Christian Church, 701 N. Four Mile Run Road, where Michael Smith is pastor.
The first day will focus on topics including a safety and security ministry, pros and cons of armed vs. unarmed security personnel, history and demographics of violent events at churches, active shooter response and nursery security and procedures. The second day will include topics such as importance of awareness, church lockdown procedures, recognizing suspicious behavior and verbal conflict management.
