YPD finds drugs on 4 in 2 traffic stops

YOUNGSTOWN

Police said they found suspected crack cocaine in a traffic stop Thursday, and suspected heroin and marijuana in an additional traffic stop Wednesday morning.

Arraigned in municipal court Friday on a charge of possession of crack cocaine was Bernard Hasley, 47, of Idora Avenue. He was the driver of a car pulled over at about 5:10 p.m. Thursday at West Hylda and Hudson avenues after running a stop sign.

Reports said the car smelled heavily of marijuana and Hasley admitted smoking marijuana.

The passenger, Darrell Brown, 34, of Crandall Avenue, had three Suboxone strips in his pocket when he was searched, reports said.

At about 1 a.m. Thursday, Martasia Walker, 18, of Detroit Avenue, was arrested on a charge of possession of heroin, and Ignacio Rios, 24, of Cleveland, was taken into custody on a charge of possession of marijuana and also three warrants from municipal court. Reports said Rios also has a felony warrant out of Franklin County.
