Warrant: Chef at Ohio facility admitted killing housekeepers

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio (AP) — An arrest warrant says a chef suspected of fatally shooting two female co-workers at a northeast Ohio assisted living facility told police he killed the women.

Police in Chagrin Falls obtained a murder warrant today for 56-year-old Frank Staton, of Chardon. He’s accused of killing Terri Treadway, of Chardon, and Catherine Sutter, of Burton, on Thursday at Hamlet Village before turning a gun on himself.

Police say Staton is hospitalized in critical condition.

The women, both 58, were housekeepers at the facility 20 miles southeast of Cleveland. Police say Staton lived with one of the women.

An affidavit for the warrant says Staton admitted having a concealed carry permit and shooting the women. A loaded handgun and shell casings were recovered at the scene.
