US teen survived attacks in both Boston and Belgium

GHENT, Belgium (AP) — An American teenager wounded in the Brussels Airport attack also survived the Boston Marathon attack.

Mason Wells, who is from Sandy, Utah, was in a hospital in the Belgian city of Ghent today, where he told The Associated Press he felt an amazing calm after surviving the suicide bombings Tuesday at Belgium's main airport.

Wells, a 19-year-old Mormon missionary, said he felt at peace in the moments after surviving the Brussels attack and had a sense that "someone greater than us is watching over us."

Wells was also in Boston at the time of the Boston marathon attack, having gone to support his mother in her race.

His parents have flown to be by his side in Ghent.
