Spencers mark 50th anniversary at family dinner

Mr. and Mrs. James Spencer of Austintown were honored at Feb. 6 at a family dinner at Luva Bella Winery in Lowellville on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Hosts for the celebration were the couple’s children and their spouses, Bridget and Carl Cramer, Jim and Amy Spencer and Sean and April Spencer, all of Austintown.

Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren complete their family.

The former Andrea LaPresta and Mr. Spencer were married Feb. 5, 1966, at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

She is a volunteer cook at the West Side Community Center in Youngstown and is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Girard and American Legion 301.

Mr. Spencer served in the Army from 1962 to 1964 and retired in 2001 from Republic Steel/WCI Steel in Warren where he was a pipe fitter/bearing changer. He belongs to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Salem.

The couple are members of St. Joseph Church and the Saxon Club.
