A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

March 12

Theft: Fishing equipment was reported stolen at a home in the 100 block of E. Main St.

Telecommunications harassment: Kenneth Kuhn, 52, of Shields Road, Youngstown was arrested for telecommunications harassment, accused of sending unwanted text messages to a home in the 300 block of Neff Drive.

Drug possession: Jeffrey Williams, 18, of Bob White Court, Youngstown was arrested for drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

March 14

Bomb threat: A Struthers male juvenile was arrested for inducing panic and making threats after a bomb threat at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

March 15

Drug possession: Shawn Sanders, 42, of Bill Smith Road, Wellsville, was arrested for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia and Nathaniel Hodgson, 32, of Arch St., Salem, was arrested for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fraud: A fraudulent tax return was reported at a home in the 300 block of Callahan Road.

March 17

Theft: Cash and gift cards were stolen from a student’s purse at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.

March 19

Obstructing: Rodney Smith, 26, of Northview Blvd., Youngstown was arrested for obstruction of official business and Taniqua Smith, 26,same address, was arrested for falsification and failure to appear on a warrant out of Boardman court.

AUSTINTOWN

March 14

Fraud: A credit-card account was opened in the victim’s name at a home in the 2000 block of Birch Trace Drive.

Criminal damaging: Scratches to the paint on a vehicle were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Identity theft: A fraudulent IRS tax return was filed at a home in the 6000 block of Harvest Ridge Drive.

Theft: A 1974, black “homemade” motorcycle was stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Burglary: A PlayStation game and system and a wireless controller were stolen from a home in the 30 block of Idlewood Road. There was forced entry through a door.

March 15

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.

Burglary: A window screen was removed at a home in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: A laptop was taken at a home in the 400 block of Westgate Blvd.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Woodgate Street.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of Fountain Square Drive.

Falsification: Marquelle Boatwright, 26, of Park Ave., Youngstown was arrested on a falsification charge and on warrants for theft and felonious assault.

March 16

Theft: An employee is accused of theft at Power Tool Supply, 3699 LeHarps Road.

Identity theft: Accounts were opened fraudulently at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

March 17

Drug offense: Anthony Ginnis, 23, of Dobbins Road, Poland was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Domestic violence: Johnny Kline, 35, of Duke Circle, was arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Criminal trespassing: Peter Larkin, 56, of West Hampton Drive, was issued a summons for criminal trespassing at Hillbrook Apartments, 554 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Shane Endicott, 25, of Pine Lake Road, Salem was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, including Adderal; Michael Booker, 21, of South Raccoon Road, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, cocaine, permitting drug abuse; and William Mull, 27, of Euclid Street, Salem, was arrested for possession of drugs, including cocaine, permitting drug abuse, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

March 18

Theft: Kyle Crea, 27, of Eastwind Place was arrested for theft of $31.92 in merchandise at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Threatening phone calls were reported at a home in the 400 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft: A female took game cards at Game Stop, 5515 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Medication was stolen at a home in the 10 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

March 19

Theft: Fraudulent returns were made at Walmart.

Burglary: Change and a pen were stolen at a home in the 100 block of Wilcox Road.

March 20

Weapons offense: Brandon Jones, 24, of McGuffey Road, Lowellville, was arrested for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He was found with a loaded handgun.

Disturbance: A disturbance was reported at the 1000 block of Compass West. Conflicting stories were given over the matter.
