YWCA offers Women’s History Month events
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The YWCA of Youngstown will participate in Women’s History Month events.
An interactive lecture on “Feminism 101” will be offered from noon to 12:50 p.m. Friday in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The event will introduce what feminism is and is not, what it means to be a feminist and the history and future impact of feminism, and will work to dispel often perpetuated myths about the movement.
The student chapter of the National Organization of Women, Pi Sigma Alpha, YSU’s women and gender studies program have teamed with the YWCA to sponsor an event, “Negotiation Workshop for Women: Strategies, Tools and Skills for Empowerment,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.
The workshop will teach effective negotiation techniques, particularly for women, to urge greater success in business and in life.
