P.J. Mays resigns as Lowellville football coach

LOWELLVILLE — P.J. Mays' career as Lowellville High School's head football coach is apparently over before it really started.

Mays resigned Wednesday. He was hired as the Rockets' coach in December after resigning as the head coach at East High School.

Mays, a former Youngstown State running back and graduate of the old East High School, told WFMJ he resigned over a social media post on the East High School fights earlier this month.
