Boardman traffic stop leads to drug charges for Sebring woman

BOARDMAN — Police charged Casey Burnie, 22, of Sebring, for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop Monday afternoon, according to police.

After an officer stopped Burnie's car for failing to use a turn signal, he then requested consent to search her car. Burnie, who also had an adult female and a male passenger in the vehicle with her, denied consent, according to a police report, and claimed she was in a hurry.

After searching the car, the officer found a razor blade, a playing card, a glass crack pipe and a glass vial containing a white powder which later tested positive as cocaine.

Police placed Burnie's under arrest, but she was later released on a $3,000 bond pending her appearance in Mahoning County Boardman court today.
