Youngstown police and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting early Sunday in the 400 block of Idora Avenue.
It is the city’s second homicide within a week and its fourth homicide of the year, compared with two at this time in 2015, a year in which 23 homicides were recorded. The fourth homicide in 2015 was not recorded until April 19.

Police were dispatched to the area after receiving calls reporting shots being fired about 12:20 a.m.
The names of the victims had not been released as of late Sunday night.
Police say no suspects have been arrested but that detectives are following up on several leads.
Police also said they will step up patrols in the Fosterville neighborhood on the city’s South Side.
On Wednesday at about 1:30 a.m., a passing motorist on Oak Street Extension saw a body in the street about 100 yards from Oak Street on the city’s East Side and called 911.
