Utilities protection seminar scheduled

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Call Before You Dig” seminar at The Embassy, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road, from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13.

The seminar will feature Chuck Green of the Ohio Utilities Protection Service.

Green will discuss the rules and regulations for topics ranging from landscaping and removing/planting trees to drilling, trenching and demolition.

The cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

SBA event targets selling contracts to the government

CLEVELAND

The U.S. Small Business Administration of Cleveland will have a “How to Sell Your Product or Service to the Federal Government” seminar in Cleveland on April 15.

The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at 1350 Euclid Ave., Suite 211.

SBA administers several programs and services that assist small businesses to receive government contracts. These include the 8(a) Business Development Program, SAM, HUBZone Program and SUB-Net.

Gross table-game revenue increases by 6.7 percent in PA

HARRISBURG

Gross revenue from gambling at table games in Pennsylvania casinos during February 2016 was 6.7 percent higher than February of last year, according to figures recently released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The report shows that this February’s gross table-games revenue was $68,187,957 compared with $63,916,997 in revenue produced by the 12 casinos during February 2015.

Sharon to have new arts, training school

SHARON, PA.

Recently, The Hope Center for Arts and Technology broke ground on the renovation of an old school building in Sharon.

The site will become home to youth arts education classes for high school students and middle-skills career training for adults.

The combination of programming is designed to help high-school students transition to higher education and help adults find employment with career growth opportunities.
