Students sought to work Pa. polls

MERCER, PA.

Mercer County Bureau of Elections is seeking students to serve as poll workers for the April 26 primary election. Students must be at least 17 and must attend a training session two weeks before the election. Poll workers are not paid, and students are not required to work a full day. An appropriate official from each school should contact Jeff Greenburg, director of elections, no later than April 4 at 724-662-7542 or jgreenburg@mcc.co.mercer.pa.us.

Disc-golf discs

Disc-golf discs are available for free rental by groups, thanks to a donation by Trumbull County resident Dillon Green as part of his Boy Scout Eagle Scout project. Submit a user form available by emailing the operations director of the Trumbull County MetroParks at zachary.svette@trumbullmetroparks.org or calling 330-675-3072.

6th Ward Citizens Coalition to meet

The monthly meeting of 6th Ward Citizens Coalition is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 3919 Southern Blvd. Neighborhood-issue updates on community building efforts will be discussed. Mayor John A. McNally will be the special guest.

Weather spotter training March 30

Mahoning County Skywarn, a volunteer organization of weather spotters, will host a free training session for the public on how to recognize approaching storms and tornadoes, conducted by Michelle Sowers of Ohio EMA in Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. March 30 in Fitch High School auditorium, 4560 Falcon Drive. Sign-in begins at 5:30.
