More from opening round

Adult-Junior pro-am: Winners of the Friday event were Keith Davis (adult, 1,564); Brady Frasco (junior boy, 1,564); and Alexis Cobbin (junior girl, 1,589). Davis’ scores were 274-202-246—722, plus 57 handicap; his pros combined for 775. Frasco’s games were 251-165-165—581, plus 282 handicap; his pros combined for 701. Cobbin’s games were 194-206-201—601, plus 189 handicap; her pros combined for 799.

Here we go: Darryl Humphreys of Pittsburgh stopped by Bell-Wick to watch the morning squad action before his “B” squad start at 3 p.m. A regional member since 1997, Humphreys first bowled in Hubbard in 2015, but didn’t advance beyond the opening round. The 51-year-old Humphreys bowls mostly in the Pittsburgh area, where his favorite event is the annual Cochran tournament around July 4. “We used to have regionals, but those stopped,” he said.

Women: The five females entered are Stephanie Casey of Yonkers, N.Y.; Liz Kuhlkin of Rotterdam, N.Y.; Diana Zavjalova of Latvia; Kristina Szczerbinski of N. Tonawanda, N.Y.; and Kerri Smith of New Holland, Pa.

Family: Three Tacketts — two brothers and a cousin — of Huntington, Ind., bowled during the first day: brothers E.J. (age 23) and Zachery (19) and cousin Eric (26).
