Five women to be inducted in to HOF
CANFIELD
The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown will induct five women into the LWVGY Women’s Hall of Fame during a meeting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 29 at the Canfield Library, 43 W. Main St.
The honorees are noted for making significant and lasting impressions in education, social justice, civil rights, voting rights, revitalization and the arts. They include: Detrinalyn Benson, manager of the Learning Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown; Joyce Kale-Pesta, director of the Mahoning County Board of Elections; Suzyn Schwebel Epstein, a community volunteer and philanthropist; the honorable Cheryl L. Waite of the Ohio Court of Appeals, seventh appellate district; and Penny Wells of the Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past.
Jan Leach, associate professor at Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, will discuss “10 Questionable Ethics Decisions and What to Do When People Behave Badly.”
