City police investigate 2nd homicide in a week

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating their second homicide within a week and fourth of the year.

Chief of Detectives Capt. Brad Blackburn said a 23-year-old man was shot to death about 12:30 a.m. today in the 400 block of Idora Avenue.

Early Wednesday morning a man was found shot to death on Oak Street Extension. No arrests have been made yet in that case.

In 2015, Youngstown recorded 23 homicides. Investigators solved 17 of them.
