Pennsylvania’s jobless rate holds steady at 4.6 percent

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is holding steady at 4.6 percent.

The state Labor Department reported today no change in the rate from January to February. It’s at the lowest level since September 2007.

Total nonfarms jobs last month increased over 21,000 to a record high of 5.867 million in February.

Labor officials say the largest gain was in education and health services, up over 12,000 due mostly to education services.

The biggest drop was in manufacturing after three consecutive gains.
