Hundreds take a peek at new Gander Mountain, line up for freebies
NILES
In less than two hours, the new Gander Mountain in Niles had at least 1,000 customers come through the store on Friday.
Some were awarded with gift cards and others with Gander Mountain gear.
Nate Hosie, a country artist and host of “Headhunters,” performed before and after the 10 a.m. opening.
Before the opening, hundreds of customers, many with some form of camouflage on, lined a perimeter of the store, located at 2390 Niles Cortland Road SE, for freebies and a chance to see inside.
Established in 1960, the outdoor store offers outdoor equipment, firearms, camping supplies, fishing and marine products, technical and rugged outdoor apparel and technical and casual footwear as well as gunsmith and archery services. This store is one of 162 stores in 27 states.
The Niles Gander Mountain doubled in size to offer more brands and expand already-offered brand lines that promote the store’s “hunt, camp, fish” slogan. The number of employees also doubled to 70.
