Hundreds show up for Gander Mountain grand re-opening

NILES — A double-sized Gander Mountain in Niles is now open.

Hundreds of customers lined the new store, located at 2390 Niles Cortland Road SE, for freebies and a chance to see inside this morning.

Some took home gifts and others Gander Mountain gear.

Nate Hosie, a country artist and host of "Headhunters" performed before and after the 10 a.m. opening.

The store doubled in size to offer more brands and expand already offered brand lines. The amount of employees has also doubled to 70.

While the old Gander was being renovated, a temporary location was used.

"It's been quite an experience," said Dustin Sumner, general manager of the store. "We were ready for a face lift. We have been in this area for 15 years."
