Grove City, Pa., man gets probation for Social Security theft

PITTSBURGH — A federal judge has sentenced a Grove City, Pa., man to two years of probation and full restitution in the amount of $27,310 after he was convicted of stealing his deceased mother’s Social Security benefits between January 2011 and September 2012, the U.S. Attorney said.

U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon imposed the sentence this week on Alexander Viskovatoff, 57, for theft of government property.

The case was investigated by the Social Security Administration.
