Argus Lodge honors longtime member
SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | Argus Masonic Lodge 545, Canfield, honored Paul M. Remias of Youngstown for his 60 years of membership on Feb. 26 during the Lodge’s annual awards night. Remias was awarded a gold pin. Guests of the meeting were Robert W. Ridzon and the family of Remias. Master of Ceremonies and photographer for the event was Denny Furman. Ryan Hamilton, left, presented the award to Remias with Ridzon. The Masons value charity highly, with 121,000 Ohioan Masons donating approximately $15 million every year. This year, $97,000 was donated in college scholarships, $125,000 to Special Olympics and $70,000 to provide free training for hundreds of Ohio school teachers to learn to recognize students who have a nonacademic risk. The Masons also provided $12 million in elderly care and helped many other needy families and individuals through the group’s Charitable Foundation. Information is available at www.freemason.com.
