Victim claims robbery was set up on Facebook
YOUNGSTOWN — A man told police Wednesday he was robbed and beaten about 3 a.m. after he met a woman he talked to on Facebook at a house in the first block of West Heights Avenue.
The man told police about 5:45 p.m. the woman arranged a meeting at the home. When the man arrived, there were no lights on. The victim sat on the porch with the woman until two men came up with guns and demanded his money.
When the victim said he had nothing and tried to run away, the two men hit him with their guns, tackled him and all three kicked him while they were on the ground until the woman took the victim’s cellphone and all three left.
The victim was treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital before making a police report. Reports said he had an eye swollen shut and cuts and bruises on his face and forehead.
