YOUNGSTOWN
A Berlin Center man was booked into the Mahoning County jail Wednesday on a charge of felonious assault after police say he beat a woman at a home in the 1700 block of Bears Den Road.
Reports said police were called after an argument between Michael Atyim, 42, and a woman turned physical. Witnesses told police Atyim and the woman were at an Austintown bar earlier in the evening when Atyim got in another argument with another woman and that woman ended up being taken to a hospital, reports said.
Reports said Atyim became upset while at the Bears Den Road home and began punching the victim in the face several times, and the victim’s mother and brother tried to get Atyim to stop before they called police.
The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to be treated for several injuries to her face.
