Liz Rubino’s latest cabaret show, “Woman Under the Covers,” will get its Youngstown debut April 29 at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Christman Hall at 8 p.m.

A recording artist, educator and theater professional, Rubino is a Mahoning Valley native who frequently performs in New York.

Tickets are on sale at the Stambaugh Auditorium box office, 1000 Fifth Ave., and online at stambaughauditorium.com.

“Woman Under the Covers” showcases Rubino’s voice and versatility, as she covers hits traditionally sung by males. It features a range of music, from Bing Crosby to Broadway, including Simon & Garfunkel, Michael Jackson, the Eagles and Dave Matthews Band.

Jack Ciarniello of Youngstown is music director and pianist, with David DePanicis, Abby Gross, Roger Lewis and Vincent Vivacqua comprising the band. Nikita Jones and Anne Marie Setting will provide back-up vocals.

The intimate cabaret show includes hors d’oeuvres by Inspired Catering and a complimentary glass of champagne or soda. A cash bar also will be available.

Additionally, cabaret-goers will be able to purchase the CD of the show or pre-order the vinyl album.

“Woman Under the Covers” premiered in New York about a year ago and has been performed in several cities.

Critics have called Rubino a “winking songbird with golden pipes” and a “vocal powerhouse.”
