Pavlik indicted for felony assault in pellet-gun incident

YOUNGSTOWN — Former boxing champion Kelly Pavlik was indicted today by a Mahoning County grand jury on two counts of felonious assault.

Kelly, 33, of Sugarbush Drive in Canfield, is accused of wounding a man Aug. 9 with a pellet gun while the man was working on a swimming pool at Pavlik's home.

The former champ has had several run ins with the law the past couple of years, including for failing to pay for a cab ride and driving under the influence.
