FBI: 10 suspects in drug trafficking ring arrested in Ohio

CLEVELAND (AP) — FBI officials say they have arrested 10 suspects in a Mexican drug trafficking ring that has been distributing crystal methamphetamine throughout northeast Ohio.

Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony of the FBI’s Cleveland division says federal, state and local law enforcement officers arrested seven people on Wednesday in the Akron and Canton area and were seeking an eighth suspect.

Anthony’s statement says those arrested Wednesday were charged with intent to distribute and distribution of crystal methamphetamine. They also were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of crystal methamphetamine.

Anthony says three other suspects were arrested previously and charged locally in Stark and Summit counties on drug trafficking and weapons violations.

Authorities say the arrests resulted from a nearly six-month investigation.
