Youngstown fire

YOUNGSTOWN

Fire officials said the cause of a blaze about 1 p.m. Tuesday at a home at 449 Worthington Ave. was electrical. When crews arrived, they found a fire on the ground floor of an addition built onto the home. Clutter inside hampered some firefighting efforts, but the fire was under control very quickly. A damage estimate was unavailable.

No murder charges

WARREN

Tajuanna McKinnon, 38, won’t face murder charges in the June 6 shooting death of her boyfriend, Rayen L. Patterson, 44. A Trumbull County grand jury refused to indict her Tuesday.

McKinnon, of First Street Southwest, was charged with Patterson’s killing shortly after he was found with a fatal gunshot wound at his home on Oak Circle Southwest.

The couple had a history of domestic violence, with Patterson reporting Dec. 19, 2014, that McKinnon had cut him behind his ear with a kitchen knife during an argument. Patterson refused treatment, and no charges were filed.

McKinnon reported that Patterson had broken the window of her car at his house in October 2014. No charges were filed in that matter either.

Patterson was sentenced to two days in the county jail in 2012 after he was convicted of domestic violence against McKinnon.
