SUPER TUESDAY | Mahoning County levies so far look to pass


YOUNGSTOWN — With nearly 37 percent of votes in Mahoning County counted, all five renewal levies on the ballot in Austintown and Poland as well as the county senior citizens levy are ahead.

The 1-mill Mahoning County senior levy is ahead with roughly 62 percent of voters in favor of it, according to results so far released by the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

Renewal levies for roads, senior citizen services and the park all are ahead with comfortable margins.

In Poland, a renewal of a 3.6-mill school district levy remains a close count, with 625 voters in favor and 598 against it.

A Poland Township renewal levy is ahead with 56 percent of voters for it.
