Ohioans who want to see Gov. John Kasich’s State of the State speech in person next month have about a week to add their names to a lottery for tickets.

The administration said tickets will be given away to residents who submit their names online at Governor.Ohio.Gov. Ticket-seekers will have to provide their names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.

Those who have their names selected can get one or two tickets. The deadline to apply is noon March 25, and winners will be notified via email a week later.

The governor’s annual address to a joint session of the Ohio House and Senate will take place at 7 p.m. April 6 in Marietta at the Peoples Bank Theatre.

Fatal traffic accident

EAST LIVERPOOL

An East Liverpool man, Clyde A. Reed, 56, was killed Saturday when his pickup truck, traveling west on County Road 427, failed to make a curve, went off the right side of the road, struck several trees and overturned.

The crash occurred at about 7:32 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon Post.

Purim Carnival set

YOUNGSTOWN

The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, will host a Purim Carnival from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Children can enjoy a host of activities and games, including an inflatable cannonball blaster, bounce house, face painting, photo booth, arts and crafts, Porgie the Clown and more.

Admission is free, and there will be carnival treats for purchase and a children’s costume contest with prizes.
