Tree, plant sale

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Lawrence County Conservation District will offer its annual tree seedling and plant sale to benefit the district’s environmental education programs. A variety of evergreens are available, including firs, spruces, and pines, as well as white oak, sugar maple, black cherry, Kousa dogwood, hazelnut, shagbark hickory, and butternut; fruit trees include Lapins sweet cherries, Honeycrisp and Gala apples; and plants, elderberries and everbearing strawberries. The deadline to order is April 1.

Orders must be prepaid and picked up at the county warehouse near the courthouse on April 23. Order forms are available at www.lawrencecd.org or by calling 724-652-4512.

A meeting to discuss a zoning change for 1514 S. Raccoon Road will take place at 7 p.m. March 24 in township hall, 82 Ohltown Road. Cocca Development LTD is requesting 200 additional feet on the property for the construction of a Dunkin Donuts.
