‘Drop Dead’ at Canfield High

Canfield High School theater department will present “Drop Dead,” a play by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school’s auditorium.

The story involves a cast of has-been actors who plan to revive their careers in “Drop Dead,” a potboiler murder mystery. At the dress rehearsal, the set falls, props break and the producer and an actor are murdered. During the opening-night performance, the murders continue. The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery and stay alive for curtain calls.

Regina Renyolds is the director.

S. Range presents ‘All Shook Up’

NORTH LIMA

Shakespeare meets James Dean, set to the music of Elvis Presley, in South Range High School Drama Team’s production of the 2005 Broadway hit “All Shook Up” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. March 20.

Performances will be at the school’s performing arts center, 11300 Columbiana Canfield Road.

Tickets are $10 and $8 and will be sold at the door and in advance by calling 330-727-0160.

The musical is about a guitar playing roustabout who changes a town with the power of love and rock’n’roll.

It is directed by Michael Sobota and features a cast of 58 students.
