Winner Aviation announces Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport becomes gateway

VIENNA

Winner Aviation, at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, recently announced the airport will be a Gateway Airport for general-aviation aircraft wishing to fly into Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

Winner Aviation applied for status as Reagan Gateway Airport last year for its general-aviation and flight- department customers.

Corporate flight departments based in other cities must clear a Transportation Security Administration inspection in a Gateway City and hire an armed air marshal before landing at Reagan in Washington.

Winner, a full-service fixed-base operation at the Youngstown airport, received the authorization to provide its facilities and personnel for the TSA to conduct this screening at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

“We are pleased that we are approved as a DCA [Reagan National Airport] Gateway airport, and we can provide our customers the convenience of flying from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport directly into Reagan National Airport,” Michael Hillman, director of flight operations at Winner Aviation, said in a statement.
