POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard Girard, Canfield and Austintown:
HUBBARD
March 4
Theft: A $20 trash can was removed from a residence in the 300 block of Caroline Avenue.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Cyrus Street resulted in the arrest of 40-year-old Amanda M. Roch of Orchard Avenue, Hubbard, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.
Harassment: A North Main Street man said his former girlfriend has made and sent him unwanted calls and text messages.
March 5
Theft: A woman told police that while checking the finances of her uncle, of Youngstown-Hubbard Road, she discovered someone had made unauthorized transactions to his account that totaled about $1,200.
March 6
Arrest: Jeffrey A. Morgan of Wheeler Street, Hubbard, was taken into custody on a warrant charging failure to appear in court after having been pulled over near his home. The 62-year-old Morgan also received a minor-misdemeanor citation when, police said, a suspected marijuana pipe was found.
Arrest: Authorities in the 200 block of Jacobs Road took 36-year-old David C. Altman into custody after discovering Altman, of Edgehill Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on three felony warrants and a probation-violation charge.
Theft: A Jacobs Road woman alleged her boyfriend likely took $300 from her purse.
March 8
Harassment: A North Main Street man said his former girlfriend’s mother had sent him a text message he interpreted as a veiled threat.
March 9
Possible trespassing: A caregiver for an elderly Moore Street woman told officers someone entered the home claiming to be another caregiver.
GIRARD
March 7
Criminal mischief: A Beechwood Drive woman noticed an 8-foot rut in part of her lawn.
Assault: Two people reported a man assaulted them, including having placed one of the accusers in a headlock, during an argument in the 200 block of East Howard Street.
Criminal mischief: An East Howard Street man noticed someone had tossed a rock and broken a window on his wife’s car. Damage came to $500.
Theft: An East Second Street woman discovered $5,900 missing from her bank accounts, including $3,900 from a college fund.
Harassment: A West Liberty Street woman said a man has been harassing her via text messages and calls.
Drug paraphernalia: Police near Interstate 80 pulled over and charged 25-year-old Christian D. Fredenburg of East Howard Street, Girard, with possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly having found a suspected marijuana pipe with residue.
March 8
Arrest: Valerie A. Reese, 27, was taken into custody in the 300 block of South State Street. Reese, of East Prospect Street, Girard, was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
Menacing: A Park Avenue man reported having received a series of harassing messages and calls that became threatening in nature and caused the accuser to fear for his safety.
Identity fraud: A Church Hill Road woman reported that after calling to have her electricity reconnected, she found out a Campbell woman had used her Social Security number without authorization and racked up a $282 balance.
Menacing: A Park Avenue man said two people placed unwanted information about him on Facebook.
March 9
Harassment: An Emma Street woman reported an East Howard Street woman made and sent her such calls and text messages, including a threat to beat up the accuser.
March 10
Arrest: Authorities in Youngstown picked up Dominic Sarno, no information given, who was wanted on a Girard warrant charging failure to appear in court.
March 11
Drug paraphernalia: A woman handed to police two syringes and two spoons with burn marks and possible drug residue that she reported having found in the 300 block of Moccasin Trail.
CANFIELD
Feb. 26
Warrant: Police arrested Daryl Juillerat, 29, Oakmont Drive, on a self-surrender arrest on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant.
Feb. 27
Drug abuse: Police arrested Cody Martinko, 22, of Chapel Hill Court, Warren, on charges of drug abuse and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested Darian Rivera, 23, of Blossom Avenue on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
March 1
Warrant: Rickie Russo, 36, of Cardinal Drive, Hiram, surrendered to police on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant for failure to appear.
March 4
Forged document: A report of a forged document was received from a home on Fairview Avenue was forwarded to Boardman police because the alleged forgery took place in Boardman.
Identity fraud: A person who lives in a home on Garwood Drive filed a report of identity fraud in taxes.
AUSTINTOWN
Feb. 29
Theft: Two washer and dryers were stolen from a duplex in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.
Warrant: Police arrested Jakeace Felder, 20, of Westchester Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.
Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Eraysha Campbell, 23, of Compass West apartments on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana.
March 1
Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card at a home in the 300 block of Forest Hill Drive.
Telecommunications harassment: There is a suspect in telecommunications harassment at a home in the 2000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.
Warrant: Police arrested Brian Chuey, 50, of Selkirk Drive on five warrants on charges of corrupting another with drugs, drug trafficking in heroin, possession of drugs (heroin), inducing panic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
March 2
Aggravated menacing: A suspect threatened the business Ankle and Foot Care,1450 S. Canfield-Niles Road over a bill.
Theft: A gym bag was stolen at Planet Fitness, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Recovered property: An iPad was recovered at an apartment in the 100 block of North Kimberly Avenue.
Fraud: A credit card was used fraudulently at Power Tool & Supply,3699 LeHarps Road.
March 3
Theft: A front license plate was stolen from an auto parked in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Criminal damaging: A woman driver ignored traffic directions and drove over the lawn at Austintown Elementary School, 245 Idaho Road.
Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Bobby Fentsend, 34, of Westchester Drive on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Drug offense: Police issued a summons to James Tinsley, 35, of Main Street, Campbell, on a charge of possession of marijuana, and a summons to Solangel Rodriguez, 23, of Lincoln Park Drive, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of drugs.
Weapons offense: Police reported a 16-year-old student had a knife at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.
March 4
Fraud: Fraudulent checks were cashed at Chase bank for thousands of dollars at Fox Run Apartments, 15 N. Raccoon Road.
Warrant: Police arrested Rodney Eyster, 27, of Hamilton Avenue, Poland on a Boardman warrant on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Warrant: Police arrested Marquel Baker, 24, of Forest Ridge Court, Mineral Ridge on a bench warrant for theft.
Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Peter Larkin, 56, of West Hampton Drive on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Theft: A male suspect walked out of Walmart,6001 Mahoning Ave., with a Hewlett Packard computer.
March 5
Theft: A female was scammed out of $4,500 at a home in the 500 block of Wilcox Road.
Burglary: There was an attempted burglary at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.
Drug offense: An underage party was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.
March 6
Criminal damaging: A windshield of a vehicle was damaged after being punched by an unidentified male at Wylie Coyote’s, 4176 Mahoning Ave.
Burglary: A home in the 1000 block of Fountain Square Drive was burglarized. Nothing was missing but property was damaged.
Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Kayla Pupio, 21, of Vestal Road, Youngstown on charge of possession of marijuana.
Fraud: Unauthorized charges to a Discover account were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Brockton Drive.
