The city’s design review board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday to hear construction plans for Sam Pitzulo’s recently purchased property at 275 N. Broad St. He is owner of Sam Pitzulo Homes & Remodeling, 427 S. Broad St. The property once belonged to Judson Canfield, grandson of the city’s namesake, Judson Canfield. Pitzulo said he plans to build single-family homes on the 7-acre property and will be asking for a demolition permit at the meeting in the administration building, 104 Lisbon St.
Free bottled water
SEBRING
Sebring water customers whose water hasn’t tested in the OK range are still eligible to receive free bottled water. There is a limited supply of bottled water at the distribution center at the Sebring Community Center, 305 W. Texas Ave. Those eligible to receive water are current residents or businesses of impacted areas. Proof must be provided. Households and businesses that test OK on water quality are ineligible.
Water will be available at the center these days and times: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday; 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday; noon to 6 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 21; 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday; and noon to 6 p.m. March 24. Those with special-needs requests can contact village hall at 330-938-9340. Updates also will be posted on the village website www.sebringohio.net.
Lumber truck crashes

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that left one person injured late Friday morning. Ronald Goehrig, 53, of Superior, Wis., a commercial semi-truck driver carrying lumber, lost control of his vehicle while traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 at about 11:20 a.m., according to the OSHP. His truck went off the road and overturned. Goehrig was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said in a news release.
Vandalism charges

Officers arrested a man on five charges for vandalism of the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s building, 7500 Anderson Ave, after graffiti was found on some department vehicles early Friday morning.
Upon inspection of the area, a police officer said two vehicles were unaccounted for, later finding them damaged and stuck in mud. Officers spotted a suspect, who led them on a foot chase from Anderson Avenue to Castillion Drive to Castle Rock Drive and eventually to Brookwood Drive. They found Corey Heinselman, 30, of Niles, under a boat tarp behind the home on Brookwood Drive. Heinselman is charged with breaking and entering, theft, vandalism, obstructing official business and petty theft.
Lane restrictions

The Ohio Department of Transportation on Friday announced some upcoming lane restrictions. Interstate 680 under state Route 164 in Beaver Township has various daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs. This work is the beginning of a $3.4 million project to replace the Route 164 bridge over I-680. It is scheduled for completion in September.
In Youngstown, I-680 under Vestal Road on the West Side will have various lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. through next Saturday for bridge repairs. It is the beginning of a $2.5 million project to replace the Vestal Road bridge over I-680. That project is slated for completion by late October.
Road closing

Mahoning County commissioners announced the closing of Green-Beaver Road between state Route 14 and Garfield Road, on the border of Green and Beaver townships, beginning Monday through Friday for a culvert replacement.
Women’s History event
WARREN
Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main Ave., will celebrate Women’s History Month, with a Women’s Day Program at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The theme is “God’s Women on the Move” and will feature the Rev. Robin Woodberry, assistant pastor at New Bethel Baptist Church in Youngstown and first vice president of Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. The Rev. John H. McCants is pastor.
Weapons qualification
VIENNA
Members of the 910th Security Forces Squadron and Department of Defense Security Officers will conduct weapons qualifications starting before midnight Sunday through day and night hours until Thursday at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, 3976 King Graves Road, according to a news release from the 910th. This is a scheduled event and is necessary to maintain the mission readiness of 910th Airlift Wing security personnel, YARS officials said. Residents and passersby near the station should not be alarmed to hear weapons fire then.
Truck overturns
NORTH JACKSON
A semi tractor-trailer traveling east on Interstate 80 entrance ramp from the Ohio Turnpike went out of control and off the right side of the road and overturned Thursday. The driver, Markovic Mitar, 28, of Mount Prospect, Ill., suffered minor injuries in the 4:48 p.m. crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Canfield Post. The eastbound entrance ramp was closed to traffic while debris was cleaned up. The Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Turnpike maintenance personnel, and North Jackson Police Department assisted with traffic control and debris cleanup.
