WARREN
Carl A. Binion, 58, of Stephens Avenue Northwest, will be arraigned Monday on aggravated burglary, accused of entering a neighbor’s house and threatening him with a knife Thursday afternoon.
The charge was filed Friday in Warren Municipal Court.
The neighbor said Binion came to his home about 3:50 p.m. and walked through an open front door and into the house, shouting at the resident about “receiving bad drugs from someone.”
The victim said Binion pulled out a knife from behind his back and held it up to the victim’s throat. The victim said he ran down the hall and retrieved a baseball bat from his bedroom and struck Binion in the head with it.
The bat ricocheted off Binion’s head and hit a television, shattering the screen, the victim told police.
Binion dropped the knife and walked out of the home and back to his home, leaving the knife and his sandals behind, the victim said.
Police recovered a locking-blade knife from inside the home and one sandal each from inside the home and on the front sidewalk.
Binion was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head wound and later taken to jail. He admitted to confronting the victim but denied being in the house or having a knife, police said.
