A listing of area Easter egg hunts and other activities that will be offered this weekend, as submitted to The Vindicator:
MAHONING COUNTY
Austintown: Egg hunt, 1 p.m. today, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road. The event is for children from 2 to 12 years old and will include a puppet show, candy filled eggs and a gift bag for guests. For information, call 330 799-7823 or 330 793-4910.
Austintown: Lunch with the Easter Bunny, 1 to 4 p.m. today, Austintown Dairy Queen, 146 N. Canfield-Niles Road. A $5 lunch will include a sandwich, chips, drink and dessert. For each dollar spent, guests will get a ticket for a basket raffle for children ages 2 to 10. There will be photos with the Easter Bunny, who will hand out free candy-filled eggs, cupcake decorating, and the opportunity to pet live bunnies.
Austintown: Community Easter egg hunt, 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave. The free event will be divided into 2 to 4+ year and 5 to 8+ year age groups. Event will be held under the large tent in the Austintown Plaza parking lot in front of Aarons. Raffles will be offered to benefit Gateways for Better Living.
Boardman: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, 9 a.m. today, Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St. A visit from the Easter Bunny, arts and crafts and a magic show will be offered. The first 100 children that arrive will get a free breakfast from Chick-fil-A. Reservations required; sign up at Chick-fil-A or call 330-758-7391.
Boardman: Sensitive Bunny, 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Southern Park Mall. The mall’s annual Sensitive Bunny event will offer families that have children with special needs a subdued environment to participate in the bunny photo experience. Steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers and special activities will be offered during the wait period.
Canfield: Giant egg drop, 10 a.m. today, Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St. Families will be challenged to drop a raw egg from different heights without breaking it. Supplies provided. There will also be a puppet show, egg hunt and crafts. Donations will be accepted for Heifer International.
TRUMBULL COUNTY
Niles: Caring Bunny Inclusive Easter Celebration, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, center concourse, Eastwood Mall, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road. The Autism Society of Ohio offers an Easter Bunny photo experience for children with special needs by reducing sensory triggers for a more comforting environment. Free activities include arts and crafts, face painting, train rides, egg hunt and roll sponsored by The Movement, plant and garden activities, petting zoo featuring F5RS Bunnies in Baskets-Therapy Rabbits and more. Warren: “The Source of the Force” Easter Eggstravaganza, 2 to 4 p.m. today, Warren First Assembly, 2640 Parkman Road NW. The Star Wars-themed egg hunt will offer eggs, candy, prizes and treats for children 10 and under. There will be two presentations and two egg hunts, one at 2 p.m. and another at 3. Doors will open at 2:45. After the short drama in the main sanctuary, the egg hunt will be in and around the Eicher Center.
