Greatest Golfer 2016 dates start to roll out

The 2016 Greatest Golfer of the Valley is ready to go — just like Mother Nature is ready for golf, too.

All of our info will roll out onto vindy.com/golf in the coming weeks, but expect it to be complete by May 1.

We will also feed our updates out onto Twitter (@vindygreatest) and on Facebook (Greatest Golfer of the Valley).

FARMERS NATIONAL BANK — GREATEST ADULTS 2016

Expect registration to go live around Mother’s Day.

The dates are Aug. 19, 20 and 21 with Mill Creek welcoming us and The Lake Club as always taking us home.

Players need to be over age 18 to play, not have a pro card and live or have attended school in our 5 area OH-PA counties.

Our biggest announcement is that our Saturday rotation will now include Avalon Lakes.

Our second biggest announcement is not finalized yet — but it has to do with a new division.

Our defending Open Champs are:

Women’s — Ariel Witmer; Men’s — Jonah Karzmer; Senior’s — Tim Porter.

MILLER LITE — GREATEST SCRAMBLE 2016

We’re lining up the events and expect to debut the 2016 list in mid April. The championship scramble is Monday, Aug. 15.

GREATEST JUNIORS 2016

New to juniors this year is a 2-day, 36-hole championship shootout for the u17 Girls and Boys division. The matchups are just too good all summer and all day to let just one day decide the title. So we introduce the 36-hole finals for our oldest division.

2016 registration will open April 18.

The 2016 Juniors event schedule looks like this (*Note: All events are tee times except for shotgun format at Tam'O; u17s tee off first):

Format: All u17s will play a 36-hole shootout, the first 18 holes played Friday at SC; second 18 to be played Saturday at Avalon. u14s will just play 18 holes Saturday
