A man who reports said used his brother’s name when he was arrested and arraigned on drug charges last week was back in municipal court Wednesday under his own name.

Cametrius Adams, 38, of Youngstown, is in the Mahoning County jail on $20,000 bond after his arraignment before visiting Judge Barbara Watson on three charges of possession of drugs and a charge of falsification.

Reports said Adams, who was arrested on drug charges Feb. 26 during a traffic stop, gave the name of his brother, who is 12 years older, to police when he was booked into the Mahoning County jail. He was arraigned under his brother’s name March 1 in municipal court and was given a $12,000 bond, which he posted.

However, when he came back to court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning, he admitted he had been using his brother’s identity. He was taken into custody and placed back in the jail pending his arraignment on the same felony drug charges, plus the misdemeanor falsification charge.

Police also took two additional people into custody Tuesday on drug charges and cited an additional person.

About 5:20 p.m., members of the vice squad serving a search warrant investigating drug activity at a 944 E. Indianola Ave. home found 39 boxes of .223-caliber ammunition, a loaded 9 mm handgun, a .12-gauge shotgun, 36 live shotgun rounds, six 9 mm rounds, three digital scales, three needles and a bulletproof vest. Some assault rifles use .223-caliber ammunition.

Arrested on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia was Phillip Clark, 28, who lists the home as his address.

A woman who also lists the home as her address, Danita Johnson, 25, was taken into custody after a records check revealed a warrant for driving under suspension.

About 8:40 p.m. Devon Martin, 18, of Montecello Drive, was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence after reports said he failed to pull over after officers spotted him failing to stop for a stop sign and making an improper turn.

Reports said officers Anthony Trimble and Travis Sheely, who were chasing Martin, saw Martin throw several plastic bags out of his car before he finally stopped at Rush and East LaClede avenues. Officer Mohammad Awad retrieved four bags of suspected marijuana that were found in the street, reports said.

Cited on charges of possession of drugs and possession of marijuana was Cameron Dyer, 29, of Ohio Avenue, after reports said police found five Suboxone strips in a cigarette pack in his car after he was pulled over about 2:50 p.m. by vice-squad officers Mike Quinn and Jimmy Hughes Jr. at Cordova and Benita avenues for an improper turn.

Reports said officers could smell marijuana inside the car and Dyer gave police permission to search it. Before the search, Dyer also gave police a bag of marijuana he was carrying, reports said.
