Theft suspect leaves dope works in shopping cart as he flees store

After township police responded to Home Depot on Southern Boulevard for a theft report Tuesday, they found a backpack containing drug paraphernalia in a shopping cart, according to a police report. 

A male suspect reportedly left the store in the middle of an attempted theft, leaving behind a backpack filled with store merchandise, hypodermic syringes and a spoon with possible drug residue on it. 

The suspect was captured on video surveillance, according to the report. 

Police seized the backpack and drug paraphernalia.
