Grand jury indicts brother accused of killing Ohio pastor
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A grand jury in southwest Ohio has indicted on murder charges the brother of an Ohio pastor who was shot in a church office near the end of Sunday services.
Daniel Schooler earlier pleaded not guilty to the same charges after his Feb. 28 arrest at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church.
He is being held on $1 million bond and will be arraigned Thursday on the indictment counts.
Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says Schooler is charged with one count of aggravated murder, and two counts each of murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability in the slaying of the Rev. William Schooler, age 70.
Records indicate Daniel Schooler has a history of mental illness.
