Howland High School junior Sara Price, who averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds, during the 2015-16 season, has been named to the Associated Press Division II All-Ohio girls basketball first team.

The Tigers finished (20-6) and advanced to the Austintown Fitch district final before falling to Lakeview.

The 6-foot-1 Price shot 44.2 percent (207 of 468) from the floor and also made 40 3-pointers, second only to teammate Tori Rappach, who led Howland and the area with 87 long-range shots. Price shot 37 percent from 3-point range.

Price also was one of the area’s most prolific shot blockers with 53 — an average of 2.4 per game.

Two Bulldogs made the AP’s second team in Division II. Addie Becker, a 6-2 senior, averaged 19.2 points 11.1 rebounds and Annie Pavlansky, a 6-0 sophomore, averaged 15.8 points and 8.7 rebounds.

Lakeview (22-3) won the Austintown Fitch district and lost to Elyria Catholic 50-44 in a regional semifinal.

Poland’s Bella Gajdos (16.8 points) and Rappach (18.1) were special-mention All-Ohio selections.

Makayla Trebella (Girard), Chloe Cheresne (Salem) and Emily Melnek (Poland) earned honorable-mention status.

Newton Falls’ Gabrielle Kline was a third-team All-Ohio selection in Division III. Kline, a 6-1 senior, averaged 19.1 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Tigers (24-2), who won a district title for the first time in the program’s history.

Newton Falls fell to Doylestown Chippewa 51-36 in a regional semifinal.

South Range’s Morgan Czopur (20.7 points) and Ursuline’s Dayshanette Harris (21.0) were special-mention selections in Division III.

Karlie Pezzano (Lisbon), Maddie Durkin (South Range) and Isabelle Kline (Newton Falls) were honorable-mention picks.
