Youngstown man faces assault charge in Campbell

CAMPBELL — A man was arraigned today in Campbell Municipal Court after officers reported seeing him strike a woman in the city Monday.

Jorge Collazo, 43, of Youngstown faces a misdemeanor assault charge. A police report says officers were on patrol about 7:20 p.m. when they heard tires screeching and saw a car come to a stop near a fast-food parking lot on McCartney Road.

Officers then saw Collazo, the driver, striking a screaming 31-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat, the report states. Collazo was transported to the Mahoning County jail and kept there on a $2,500 bond until his arraignment. His car was towed due to an invalid driver's license, police reported.
