TCTC evacuates following a bomb threat
CHAMPION
About 12:15 p.m. this afternoon the dean of students notified Trumbull Career & Technical Center Superintendent Jason Gray of an apparent “bomb threat” that was discovered on one of the restroom walls. The administration immediately proceeded to successfully execute their crisis evacuation protocol.
Within moments of being notified, the students, faculty, and all others within the building were quickly evacuated, accounted for, and held at a secure off-site location. They were then sent home via their routine means of transportation.
Authorities quickly arrived on the scene, conducted a detailed and thorough search of the building, and at this point have not located any evidence of explosive materials.
Gray stated that he is “not permitted to release any further details at this time, as it may compromise the integrity of the investigation.”
Gray emphatically stated, “When those that call this school their home return, they will indeed be safe.” Parents and students will receive a call after 7p.m. this evening giving them further instructions.
